Historian Christian Jacques in the book “the Message of the builders of the cathedrals” writes about the medieval master masons: “there is No romanticism in extremely harsh work these people, no exaggerated sentimentality constant routine construction projects. A spiritual search for them — everyday an adventure, a battle to reveal their true nature, to know yourself through the truth of architecture, sculpture and the mastery of professional skills”.

GOTHIC, Gothic and neo-Gothic
The violla-Le-Duc (Viollet-le-Duc) eugène Emmanuel (27.1.1814, Paris, – 17.9.1879, Lausanne, Switzerland), French architect, historian and theorist of architecture. Restored a number of French Gothic cathedrals (including Notre Dame de Paris, 1845, together with J. B. Features of the architecture of a Gothic Cathedral.
From the Romanesque Gothic architecture inherited the headship of the architecture in the system of the arts and traditional types of religious buildings.
